Ski Definition Limited: Our Mission

We will give you the confidence to ski with style, making sure you are always looked after you during your time on & off the snow. We have been delivering top quality ski tuition for 30 years, and have been lucky to find a team of Instructors, who are passionate about teaching all levels of skiers, who love the mountains & snow sports. Who are always going to be there for you!. Joining the team in the UK or on one of our European courses, for a few days or a week long trip, its all about your development, your time in the mountains or the indoor slopes. 

 

We offer in the UK Private lessons, Group Days, Instructor Level 1 exams with IASI, Instructor CPD's and much more. In Europe, we offer Short Breaks, Improver Courses, Bespoke Family / Group packages, Instructor training, Instructor Qualifications, Intro Off Piste Courses, we have something for everyone. What ever your level and what ever course / support you want, you let us know. If you want a trip with highly qualified and enthusiastic Instructors, great team in resort supporting you on & off the slopes, your trip taken care of, get in contact and we will organise trips for you!

We work with our great partners in the resort of Baqueira-Beret, Spain in the Spanish Pyrenees for most of the winter, Ski Inspired. We also delver courses across Europe, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Norway, so lets us take you on your next adventure.

The Team have over 30 years of experience working around the world within snow sports. Highly qualified qualified team headed up by Ali Smith who has reached the highest qualifications from around the world. Current Level 4 and fully certified by the Swiss & Irish systems, holding both Instructor & Coach licences (ISIA + IVSI) and a current IASI / SSS examiner / educator of instructors.

Ski definition was formed by Ali Smith to offer UK & European instruction to everyone & at all levels of ability. We pride ourselves with using the best quality tuition by using instructors & coaches, who have reached the highest standards of the international qualifications in their teaching & coaching. We are full time professional, snow-sports people, who have a passion to want to show & develop, to the students skills & knowledge in our great sport!. This offers you the best chance, for you to always develop and succeed with your ambitions & goals in Snow-Sports. The love of winter-sports gets passed onto you, the learner, from the snow-sports professionals, starting in the UK snow domes, continuing to the best resorts in the Alps & beyond. So lessons and courses where you want them.

We make sure the "Enjoyment" is never forgotten & the information given, is with experience, plus a smile!. We look after all levels of skiers from nervous beginners, wobbling on the blues, to expert instructors looking to gain the highest awards in snow-sports. The team for Ski definition has been brought together over many years of teaching from the world over, from Austria to Australia!. ISIA & IVSI International Qualifications 

Only a few companies are able to offer the high standards of both highly qualified Instructors ISIA & IVSI Coaches, within the snow-sports industry. The guidelines are set by the International associations of Instructors & Coaches, and we all follow the high standards. We are always kept up to date & refreshed to allow us to use the snow-sports professional qualifications the world over.

I.A.S.I Website: 

International Association of Snowsports Instructors - they set the standards world wide for all Snowsports Instructors. 

I.V.S.I Website:

International Verband (Federation) Snowsports Coach - they set the standards world wide for all Snowsports Coaches. 

F.I.S Website:

Federation International de Ski - they set the standards world wide for all Snowsports racing and competitions.

I.A.S.I Website:

Irish Association of Snowsports Instructors - recognised world wide with a 4 level qualification pathway, with Level 4 the highest award achieved 

and recognised around the globe for independent ski teaching. 

S.S.S Website:

Snow Sports Scotland - recognised world wide and following the IVSI coaching syllabus and awarding coaches and instructors across Scotland and the UK, with courses available through out Europe also. 

Irish Interski Team Website:

Irish team represent Ireland and IASI at the world congress of Snowsports Instructors held every 4 years. With Ski Definition owner Ali Smith being involved in the last 2 world congress in Argentina 2015 and Bulgaria 2019 delivering on snow sessions and part of the formation skiing.

Interski World Congress Website:

The world congress is a coming together of all the world snow sports governing bodies around the world. This happens once every 4 years and the next event will take place in Finland, Levi in March 2023. exchange of new ideas, current philosophies and snow sports demonstrations, lectures and sessions delivery on the mountains.
